The other day I overheard a mother talking about an answering machine, and to her surprise her daughter asked her what that was. Many young people today are part of a generation of technology that is constantly changing and updating all the time. Often there are many that say that they need to have the next latest gadget because the one that they have is now a few months old and useless. It is true that features are always being added, and products are being updated often, but that does not mean that the current item is now useless.
While there is nothing wrong with having the latest and greatest gadgets, it is a good idea to let the product bugs be worked out before you purchase it for your young teen. There is nothing more frustrating than getting something new, only to have it not work as well as the older version. It is OK to take the time to purchase the next big thing. Many people find that they can keep the technology generation satisfied by getting a software update or add some of the new applications to the current gadget until you know that you will be able to purchase the latest technology without needing to deal with issues.
Satisfy yourself and your teen in the technology generation by choosing quality products that will last for a year or so rather than a few months. Many people appreciate having the latest gadget. You can make the current gadget up-to-date with a good upgrade.
